The Story of Connor’s Room

In 2017, when Pam Hanson founded New Creation, a local church shared the vision of starting a substance abuse recovery organization. Sitting in that service was a young man named Connor Mohr. He turned to his father and said, “This is needed. I want to help.”

Just six days later, Connor tragically drowned in a lake accident. Like so many others, Connor had battled substance abuse.

Not long after, Connor’s mother reached out. She told us that because Connor wanted to help, their family wanted to help too. They donated his futon, chair, and dresser. With those gifts, we created Connor’s Room at our Spruce Street home—a quiet place for reading, meditation, or meaningful conversation. It stands as a living tribute to Connor’s heart for helping others.

To honor his legacy further, we established Connor’s Fund—a special fund that supports residents in our sober living program with essential needs they cannot afford on their own.

As Acts 20:35 reminds us: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

At New Creation Christian Camp, we provide a safe and healing environment—green spaces, walking trails, campfires, fishing, and evidence-based education that fosters recovery and lasting change.

✨ Your gift makes this possible. By donating to New Creation Christian Camp—or directly to Connor’s Fund—you help transform lives and continue Connor’s vision of giving hope to others.
